Well zelda was first invesioned and started by Shigeru Miyamoto,His idea came from his childhood when he was a boy exploring caves and forest and such you do in a zelda his true idea came as he remeberd one day he discovers a cave out of nowhere so thats pretty much where the bases of the game came.Now zelda was named after hearing of F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife Zelda, Miyamoto thought the name sounded "pleasant and significant Paying tribute, he chose to name the Princess after her, and titled his creation The Legend of Zelda.
